Plums or prunes help.Especially juice.If not,try milk of magnesia
Yep I was constipated as hell around 10-14 weeks. I took lactulose syrup and ate prunes daily (like an old person 😂) and it got me regular again xx
@Josephine thank you! I’ve ordered the lactulose to come today, I’ve always struggled anyway but it’s got even worse during pregnancy!
Yes I’m so constipated going to get some lactulose today. Also has a small bleed where I was straining 🥴
@Ami exactly the same as me!! It’s made me even more scared now to try and go, I’ve just taken my first lot of lactulose but I’ve heard it can take a few days to work 😖
It did take a couple of days to kick in, kind of have to do trial and error in terms of how much to take to have an effect!! I was swigging it from the bottle at one point 😂😂😂

I struggled to use the loo within the first 12 weeks of pregnancy and had a fair bit of constipation too, would be lucky if I was even able to go once in the day some days but eventually it slowly improved and never had any bleeding. The straining would had definitely caused the bleeding but you need to try and relax and eat foods that will help you go to the toilet too. It’s super common to get constipated in pregnancy and shouldn’t cause any harm to the baby at all but it’s always good to get in touch with your midwife if you have further concerns.
