Help

Looking for some advice, as feel like I’m failing! I’m EBF my 2 week old girl, initially she struggled with latching in hospital but once we got home everything seemed to resolve itself and she was feeding well. 2 weeks on and we seem to have gone backwards, she’s getting the breast and nipple into her mouth and just not latching, which is making us both stressed and emotional. Tried all different positions and nothing seems to work… I’ve resulted in trying to get her to latch but turning to the expressed milk in a bottle, as I can’t deal with feeling like I’m not providing for her. Milk supply isn’t an issue, as I’m managing to express more than enough. I really want to be able to get the latch fixed, but I’ve tried everything & nothing seems to work.. I’m now feeling a little lost.

Have you tried rugby hold, and laid back latch? They're the go-to ones for most breastfeeding consultants I've seen. Also try a dream feed, as sometimes the problem is baby overthinking the latch when awake and hungry

Hey mama, I found this very helpful - https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=41fC0fQs1P8 xxx

Try nipple shields, beware you may need to top up with expressed after but I used them for almost 2 weeks to help with latch and I’m now at 9 weeks EBF without using the shields, if it wasn’t for them we never would have got this far x
