Fights sleep during the day!

My little girl is 5 weeks old and sleeping relatively well at night down at 11 then up every 4 hours to feed and we wake at 8/9. However, she really fights sleep during the day! She will be exhausted and almost at the point of falling asleep then wake herself, she will also cry out just before falling asleep which sometimes will result in success others it will wake her again. I have tried different tricks and tips seen online (rocking, putting her down when showing tired signs, sshhing, stroking her face, making room cosy for sleep, taking out in pram) but has anyone else experienced this and have any advice? When she gets over tired from fighting it or missing a nap it is even harder to get her down! I feel like I’m going a bit crazy focusing on attempting to get her to sleep every 1:30/2hrs to avoid her being overtired!

We just contact napped until she was about 12 weeks She was the same overnight really good but in the day so tricky And then we sleep trained at just before 5m that’s when naps got good in the cot x

My LG was like that. We bought the thin swaddles from amazon and they have worked well as she likes to be swaddled in her swaddle sleep bag at night. I just make sure that it's velcroed tight and the top starts below her shoulders so if she wriggles it can't go over her face x

Feed to sleep and contact naps x

Have you got a carrier?? 3rd time mama here and my first 2 were both terrible sleepers (still are!!) My littlest is 7 weeks. But all of them all sleep amazing in the carrier. Plus it gives you free hands. So for me I get up in the morning and get ready to do the school run. Wack my daughter in the carrier about 8:30, and she's still asleep in it until about 11am. I can get so much done in the mornings. I did it with my other two aswell. If you haven't got one. Perhaps that's worth a try. 🥰

Thank you all! Swaddled last night with success and I can confirm she is in the carrier asleep within seconds this morning!! X
