Screaming during breastfeeding

3 and half month, exclusively BF no problems before. Over the last week baby has suddenly started resisting feeds. When I go to feed her she screams at the top of her lungs, it makes BF physically impossible I've had to express and she takes this absolutely fine. Bit of background she is on gaviscon and hasn't pood for 3 days also

oh my god!!! i thought i was completely alone in this, my baby does the exact same thing but doesn’t take a bottle so makes it even harder for me 🥲🥲 i think it’s something to do with the 3 month breastfeeding crisis. i have to wait until she’s super sleepy before she’ll accept a feed 💔

Yikes that sounds stressful. Also EBF babies can go up to 2 weeks without a poop. They utilize almost all the boob juice. Unlike formula there's more that isn't needed so more waste (poo) with forumla babies.

Thank god it's not just me. I really feel like giving up but I really don't want to. Maybe I'll try feeding when sleepy. The only feed she will take is first thing in the morning

it’s so hard isn’t it! definitely try when sleepy, my girl accepts a feed with no fuss all night and then as soon as it’s day time, it’s day in and out of screaming and turning her head away every time i try to feed her. if you’re in the UK have you thought about getting the HV to send out the infant feeding team? they might be able to help 😌 x

How often does she usually poo? My boy goes several times a day so when he stopped on gaviscon I knew something was wrong. After 2 days of no poos I sat in the bath with him rubbing his tummy, shower running on his tummy and he fired out torpedoes of poo. Needless to say we stopped gaviscon and moved to omeprazole

Before the gaviscon she was going several times a day. Since starting once a day and now none for 3 days. Maybe I will try doing that then

I just remember suffering from constipation as a kid and I'd be hungry so eat, but then be in agony. I imagine it's the same for them hence resisting feeds
