Anyone had a second incision for a second c section?

My first was an emergency and this is an elective and the midwife mentioned they might do a new incision a bit higher this time. I’m gutted because you can’t really see my current one it’s quite low down and neat. Anyone else had this?

That’s weird, how old is the scar? Xx

That seems odd to me, I’d ask the consultant. My consultant said they’d go in through the same scar because it’s healed well. Maybe you have some other factors they’ve taken into consideration?

It’s under 3 years old and this was a conversation on the phone so she couldn’t actually see it. Maybe she was imagining it even lower, she said a higher incision would be safer as less likely to lose blood and better recovery. I’m pretty sure I’m going to insist if I can as I’d rather them not give me a second scar, I thought it was odd too xx

I haven't heard of that, I would ask the consultant or someone for sure. They cut through my old scar on Monday and the surgeon actually said it tends to bleed a lot less than a first cut as its scar tissue, which I found strangely reassuring 😅 I had an emergency c-section 2 years ago and now an elective one due to being overdue. I can say the elective is much better in so many ways, hope that's helpful to hear ☺️
