Head very low into pelvis but cervix far back?

Went for an examination today at 40 weeks and midwife reported head was very far down at 2/5 engaged however cervix was too far back to examine and couldn’t be pulled forward. Has anyone else experienced this, the midwife said this was perfectly normal and even just the examination may help get things going?

I find it all so confusing! I had a sweep today, at 39+1, she said similar with regards to the head being low down but said my cervix was 'quite thick and far back'. When I go for a smear test I have to clench my fists and use them to kind of prop up my bum (if that makes sense!) so I did that, she said she was able to 'pull the cervix forward' and said it was a good place to start to hopefully get things going 🤷🏻‍♀️

Following!

Same!!! 40+3 now, currently in the hospital since Monday for reduced movements. Had 2 sweeps prior which didn't work. Got induced with the pessary and Tuesday and it failed. Had the pessary again today and tbh I doubt it's going to work!!! lol😂😂 they couldn't break my water on Wednesday as they said I am not dilated enough. I am so so so tired. I don't see me having my baby anytime soon.🥹🥹🥹🥹. Hang in there mama❤️

Same here 40+1 and had my last midwife appointment. I was scared of the sweep as she was not sure if it will start labour or not hence i didnt opt it. Waiting for baby and also to get induced on 27th Nov

I am the same, I was due on the 15th and tired two sweeps so far but neither worked as my cervix is closed and too far back. I am booked for an induction Monday, I’m gutted😔

I had exactly the same response from my midwife yesterday - she eventually managed to reach my cervix but said it was closed so not a lot she could do. It’s because baby has turned so she’s taken my cervix with her 😂 lots of upright posture and bouncing on your ball if you’ve got one 👍🏻 xx
