Fussing

My baby is 5 weeks on Saturday. He usually had a fussy period between 5/6pm-9pm when we put him in his cot to sleep. It’s not happening in the morning also, between 9-12. Then in the afternoon he is absolutely fine. He fusses, sometimes refuses the bottle but is hungry, we struggle to soothe him. It’s so exhausting. Is this normal?

Yes it's witching hour part of development

Colic or witching hour as above said if you notice a pattern… you can just try to sooth, keep calm and before 3 mo they will slowly settle … You are not alone..going through the same now (2nd time mum) Also check wonder weeks and see if your baby is going through a growth spurt

White noise on YouTube is really good for colicky/ fussy babies I’m going through the same second time mom, my first had really bad colic & this one seems to be the same 🙃😅 it does get better they settle after 12 weeks usually Rocking in the pushchair in the house with white noise is the only thing that settled my little one, or driving around in a car if you can. there’s also a colic hold position for fussy/unsettled babies If he’s rooting also, but refusing the bottle it could be he just wants something to suckle on rather than actually having milk, so a dummy would soothe him. Rooting isn’t just hunger ques it could be he wants comfort x

Colief drops are good as they help digest the lactose in formula/breast milk which can cause a fussy/colicky baby and help relieve the symptoms they are bloody expensive though but worth it 😅

@Amy is that similar to infacol? Xx
