The AAP recommends being off bottle by 15 months, some say 18. It really depends where you look
I took my baby boy off the bottle as soon as he turned 1, cold turkey. He was just starting to use the bottle to fall asleep so it was perfect timing. His last milk with a sippy cup is around 5-6. It’s harder getting him to sleep but at least he doesn’t ask for the bottle. Scored! It was just luck so do the best you can
And of course you aren’t a bad mom!
Stopping by to say my daughter is 1.5 and refuses milk out of anything but a bottle. And still gets one a day. Her pediatrician said not to worry about it and just brush her teeth or if that’s too much do a struggle to take a sip of water. It’s more about their teeth. My daughter brushes her teeth after her bottle. Do whatever works for you and your baby 💙
So my baby does rn but she has some muscle tone issues so that’s why but my twins I took their bottle at their first birthday lol and did a sippy cup it’s up to you mama nothing is wrong
And anyone saying the aap or any websites say other wise it’s wrong just brush teeth twice a day !!!
My son never had a bottle. His last cup is at dinner around 6:30/7. An hour before bedtime
It is recommended because they need to build other face/mouth muscles, which help with speaking and eating solid foods. Using a straw cup can help, so I would switch to that. You’re not doing anything wrong though
We haven’t used bottles for a long time as we stopped before one, but that was my child’s preference You aren’t a bad mom It’s recommended to be off bottles between 12-18 months They aren’t supposed to have milk in bed/after teeth brushed once they have teeth I will add we didn’t use bottles often to begin with. Mainly for long car rides or randomly to use some of my pump stash
