HELP!! Sleep training

I have a 14 month old who I have always rocked to sleep. I recently started to just lay him in his crib because he tries to push himself off when I rock him and wants down because he doesn’t want to go to bed. I put him in his crib with his favorite stuffed animal and blankie but as soon as I do he screams his head off (he’s a very loud and dramatic crier) for two minutes which seems like forever, then finally relaxed and played with his stuffy and was asleep within 5 minutes so 7 minutes total (I timed it 😂). Is this okay to start doing every evening?? Does your baby also scream when you lay them down?? I always feel so bad… He’s always been a FOMO baby 😂

Aww we’ve always laid next to our babies until they fall asleep. Well actually we cosleep to be exact, but we’ve never had any tears because of it.

I think what you did is perfect! My son sometimes cries and he sometimes doesn’t. If he only cried for 2 minutes I wouldn’t sweat it. Sounds like he is gonna get a good night’s sleep! 🌙

I also felt terrible doing this, but she was screaming and fighting for 45 mins when we tried to comfort her. One evening I needed a break, I stepped out and went to the bathroom. I watched the camera and she laid down and went to sleep. I'm happy to report that kind of crying was only that night, the next night 20 secs and now she is eager to get into bed and lays down and gets straight to sleep.

@Stacie I definitely tried co sleeping since he’s never really been a good sleeper and settling on his own but when we tried laying him in our bed he screamed too 😂

@Morgan Jump omg noooo hahaha whyyy though! Funny baby. God sometimes you just never know hey

I know this sounds awful but we had to let our kid kind of cry it out, and check on him every few minutes to let him know we weren’t disappearing and we didn’t forget about him. He is not the type to calm down easily over anything and everything, has always been that way. So we decided to bite the bullet and just do it since nothing else was working. After a couple of weeks of this he got to the point you could lay him down, turn on his music, and he would just babble to himself until he fell asleep.
