If they're your birth parter then no time limit, as long as you're there they can stay with you and go in and out of the ward (ex. to get food from the cafeteria, some shopping, etc.) Though I would say bring an extra throw and pillows and keep those in the car to fetch later cause they will be sleeping on a reclining armchair.
