I do bottle first around 5.45pm now, take him up to dress him/ nappy change and then read (if he's not overtired). He usually wants to go to sleep by 6.30pm and has always been early like that since around 4 months old (now 6 months). I place him in his cot awake and he takes around 10 mins to drop off. We sleep trained him last week using a similar method to Ferber but without the picking up. It does involve crying but we go in 5 minute intervals to reassure him. People will criticise for having the baby cry but he was doing that throughout the night anyway and it was a vicious cycle. He pretty much now sleeps through and I'd much rather that than him having to wake up 5/6 times a night and have so much broken sleep and still cry because he can't re settle or can't get comfy on me.
We start dinner (solids) around 6:15/6:30, immediately followed by breastfeed downstairs. Bath time at about 7/7:10, then into her room (dim light, white noise) for pajamas, sleeping bag, book then bed. We used to feed to sleep but used fuss it out to break the association. She now takes herself off in about 5-10mins. We have the odd false start and if she doesn't wake before we go to bed I'll try and do a dream feed. Only been doing this for the last two weeks, definitely a work in progress but I would say her sleep has improved since it's helped her learn to find her thumb and self settle 🩷
bath usually starts at around 6:30, then massage, pyjamas & sleepsack, then a gentle rock with white noise and he's placed in his cot drowsy but awake and falls asleep. if he's due a bottle we'll give him a bottle then rock etc, if not I dream feed him at around 10pm and he'll sleep until 7am/7:30am x
I appreciate everyone telling me their method, I wanted to get into a schedule but annoyingly a bath seems to wake my girl up more and make her excited 😂
We do bath in an afternoon for the exact same reason. It does not calm my little one down!
@Jamie yeah! I do her bath just before dinner as it gives us something to do while we wait for her dad to get home lol
We do solids at 5:30pm Bath at 6:15pm Cream & dress/sing at 6:30pm Final bottle at 6:45pm Bed at 7pm and he's always asleep within 5/10 mins. We sleep trained 8 weeks ago and used cry it out xx
Wakes from last nap around 5/5:30, I give him his dinner then he has a shower, fresh pjs and a little oil massage and has his hair cream in then he will come to the living room and play. I then eat my dinner around 6:30/7 and he will sit in his high chair and play while I eat. Then I get his bottle ready, put his sleeping bag on and he feeds to sleep and then I put him down into his bed for the night. All other naps he self settles and I sleep trained with pick up put down method x
