The Dummy.

Oh my God the bliming dummy!!šŸ˜© Has anyone elseā€™s little one just not taken to it?! My little one is such a hungry baby, for her itā€™s almost like if there isnā€™t any milk coming out of it then she just isnā€™t taking it!šŸ„“ But also I donā€™t think she has quite got the concept of what to do with it, if I try and give it to her she just opens her mouth and lets it fall out. Did your babies just know what to do with the dummy?!

Mine uses me as a dummy meeeh however my toddler has a dummy and Iā€™m dreading taking it off him so maybe itā€™s a blessing in the long run

Mine is hit and miss but I do find he takes it better if it's warm (i.e. no long been sterilised) x

I'm trying but I don't think he likes it. My first never took a dummy either. I'm not too bothered as my first learnt to suck her thumb to settle herself around 5 months and she's 3 now, stopped sucking her thumb herself at some point. At least we won't have to wean off of the dummy if they don't take it.

We tried today for the 1st time with the MAM one. She tried to chew it but spat it out. I even tried to drip breast milk on it šŸ˜” We might try the Nuk one or attempt few more times.

Mine did that at first so I just held it in his mouth for a minute or so and eventually he understood what to do. Sometimes he tries to refuse it now when crying, I hold it there for about 20 seconds then he will finally take it... And 9/10 stop crying x

Try different types too, I started off using tommee tippee newborn ones but they were really flat so just fell out and woke him up every time, google cherry dummies, itā€™s harder if it the slip out of their mouth. Mine still doesnā€™t love it but it helps to settle him a bit if I know he wants to suck for comfort rather than hunger
