We use a monitor which has a sound and movement alarm. I don't think it's feasible to always be in the same room as them when they sleep as they need the quiet and dark!! We just keep a really close eye on the monitor x
My boy is 10 weeks and weput him down around 9pm (wakes up twice or three times for a feed). We then are in the living room which is next to the bedroom, we can hear him if he cries and we have a baby monitor. Our routine is bath around 8pm, feed right after and drifts off. However, from what I'm hearing it is early days for a routine and this is not a strict schedule. We do it for however long it works for him. I'm not stressing over what time he gets to bed, its more about the process-bath, feed, dimmed lights, reading, lullabies etc

My little boy is 9 weeks old and we have been putting him to bed at around 8pm for the past 3 nights. It’s not been very smooth sailing as he keeps crying for us and we’re having to soothe him to sleep. A bit disheartening as his older sister was a breeze. We were putting her in her next 2 me awake at 6 weeks old and she’d fall asleep on her own with no bother
My almost 3 month old goes to bed between 530pm and 7:00pm once he has a bottle bath cuddles and book sometimes and sleeps til 1am and then wakes for the day at 5:30am. I have been doing that since 7 weeks and he’s never had an issue or fought it, I guess we didn’t realise when we weren’t aiming for a routine it just happened
I live in a one story house. I lay baby down in her nursery and then go down the hall to the living room with the monitor.
