Weaning and trialing dairy

Hi mamas! My little tornado will be one on Christmas Day, and we’ve been dairy free since March. I’ve had a few slips with baked dairy and he seemed to handle it fine — that said, we haven’t ventured much past that and I’m ready to start transitioning away from breastfeeding (we made it so far!) Does anyone have advice as to where the heck to start? I don’t want to transition him to hypoallergenic formula and I know cow/cow milk alternatives should usually be introduced after one, but I really want to wind down my supply and truly don’t know where to go from here. Thank you!

Most mums I know of cmpa babies wean onto oat milk at a year old, I think there's a toddler one that's fortified? Have you introduced any other cows milk to see if he still reacts to it? As if you introduce small amounts into porridge etc and he doesn't react, then you may just be able to put him on cows milk

Thank you! We haven’t don’t straight cows milk, though we tried a little bit of yogurt a while back and he seemed ok — it’s so hard now that he’s also on solids, mixing both new foods and dairy seems like an impossible thing to decipher. I’m curious if anyone has gone for an allergy test just to rule it out before switching to cows? I’m terrified we’ll try it and it’ll hurt him 🫣
