One they will be loving sleeping on you as they can hear your heartbeat like when they were inside you. Two is the cot/basket cold? Midwife recommend rubbing hands over the sheets to warm slightly. Third you can not love them too much or spoil them with hugs, if you are able to just sit and enjoy the cuddles, you never get these days back.
@Hannah yeah we have a snuz pod too. Totally get it. My 1st son was always fine being put down but this baby is struggling bless him. Just would be lovely to get some sleep. X
put a warm hot water bottle in to warm the bed up then take it out before putting the baby in x
My little boy was exactly the same I ended up swapping the moses basket for his side sleeper and put a hot water bottle in where his little head will go I just remove before popping him in. Also found the sleeping bag worked better than a blanket as my little one likes his hands near his face. It's still a work in progress but he is going down for at least an hour or two before his feed in the night so I'm getting a little rest now xxx
I was told if my baby is unsettled to rub the crib sheets all over me so they smell like me and it can help calm them down
What kind of cot have you got? I had a snooze pod next to me crib and my little one hated it in the first week of his life. We found that the carry cot that attached that is a part of our buggy worked a lot better for him as he felt more secure. Obviously babies are just adjusting to the world in this first week of life and from being in the comfort of mummy’s belly being nice and warm to being in a crib with lots of space can probably be a bit overwhelming for them
