Advice for flying with potty training toddler

Hi all, looking for some advice on what you would do. For context, my 2y8m toddler hasn't been wearing a nappy during the day for 1.5months now. He occasionally has an accident where he doesn't tell us or tell us in time for us to get him to the toilet. We're flying 7 hours on Thursday and I'm worried he'll have an accident on the flight. My husband wants to put him in a nappy during the flight but I'm not sure if that's a good idea or not? What would you do? Thank you

It’s one day so he shouldn’t regress. I would put him in a pull-up and try taking him to the bathroom every hour so he still has a potty routine. And in the event he sleeps(which we hope he does lol) he’ll have it own. Usually when they training the accident will happen when their asleep

We took my little girl on holiday 3 weeks after starting. We put a pull up on for tke off and landing as she wouldnt be able to go to the toilet and when she nappef and left her nappy free the rest of the time

@Emma did you put the pull up on top of her pants or just have her wear the pull up on its own? Do you mean you left her nappy free during the rest of the flight when she was not napping and just took her to the toilet?

@Kamen yeah over her clothes like i do on long journeys in the car. Yeah just kept asking her if she needed the toilet and she ws fine no accidents. I also took her travel potty in my hand luggage for if we rle needed it at the airport/on the plane and the coach transfer but we didnt use it

hi friend, currently doing the same thing on the 12th of this month every time prior that we’ve flown he hasn’t been in underwear and I plan to put a pull-up on him just for the flight. We also booked our seats as the very last row so if he does have to go potty, i’m not limiting him to not use the bathroom and it’s literally right there behind our seat and i still plan to take our normal potty breaks during the flights so he doesn’t get confused with the fact that he’s in a diaper but im using the diaper more as a safety blanket. my worst fear is him having an accident and it gets on someone else etc. anyways good luck with ur flight! 🤍

I would put a pull up on but still take them every 1.5-2 hours during the flight

I would put him in his normal clothes and then a pull up on top of his clothes so that way if he does do a wee it won’t leak onto the seat or anything. Just keep offering for him to go to the toilet like you would normally do. And then just pack some spares incase he does do a wee. Take some spare pull ups too incase. And just make sure he goes for a wee before you guys get on the plane and then when you land (although I’m sure that’s common sense anyway!)
