Little one with serious fatigue

Little one is 3 in January. Normally a very hyperactive child that physically does not stop. About 4 weeks ago I noticed he started to slow down and just wants to snuggle up in the sofa and gets tired so easily. If we are doing anything active literally after 5 minutes he tells me he is puffed out and needs to rest. He looks very pale. The doctors do not seem think it’s an issue. Has anyone else experienced the same and if so what was the outcome? I am worried he may have some sort of deficiency or possibly something else 😭 He has vitamin supplements everyone and I encourage as much healthy food as possible. He does not have a nap and hasn’t for a very long time. Any thoughts or advice would be great!!

Is he really really thirsty too? Not trying to worry you and I’m by no means a professional but a little girl I use to look after was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and the signs were that she was drinking constantly and extremely tired and had no energy at all x

I would push doctors for blood test just to check all the vitals as he can be lacking iron, magnesium or vitamin D. So better to push them for a test to put your mind at ease ❤️

My little girl nearly three has been the exact same I've tried bringing it up to the doctor's and they just say she's got gastroenteritis every time

@Emilie thank you for comment! No extra worrying it’s good to hear this. He’s always drunk a lot but not unusually thirsty but I will definitely keep an eye out!

@Hannah that is what they have said to me on multiple occasions it’s so frustrating

What multi vitamin do You give? I recently discovered mighty kids vitamins and def recommend you looking into them if not already, science-backed benefits and better absorption too might give little one a much needed boost x

I would definitely be going back to the doctor! If you feel like something's wrong, keep pushing.. get blood tests and make it clear your child has changed massively and energy levels are low which is odd for a toddler

Definitely push for a blood test. x

@Katie it’s funny you say that, we started their multi vitamin and the magnesium about 5 weeks ago as we heard they are so good. I suddenly just thought could the magnesium possibly be making him tired where it’s meant to calm the nervous system? My mind is just boggled!

Are you giving the magnesium in morning or evening? I don’t think it’s supposed to make you tired more just helps to relax the nervous system, I give my son his multi vitamin and vitamin c during the day, and magnesium in the evening. Def worth a chat with the doctor see if they can do blood test. Does your little one drink lots of milk? I’ve heard excess dairy can cause your iron levels to plummet and therefore that would cause symptoms like fatigue x

You just wrote about my son! Month ago he started to say he is tired and repeating like 10 times per day, stops to play and goes on sofa snuggle to pillow or to me! As well got pale. Plus some belly aches for 4 weeks but it went away. I give all kind of supplements as I am supplement freak. Magnesium zinc vitamins etc so I am not sure if it is related to that. GP just told me to observe him. But I am going to my country in January and I will do all the blood test/ stool tests as it sometimes can be related to some bacteria or toxins in our bodies. Let me know if you will know more.

@Angelica we have managed to get an out of hours gp appointment tomorrow I shall update you with how it goes! We are looking to see if we can go anywhere private for some tests! I have been recommended to do a detox with him for toxins and bacteria, but I don’t much about this so would need to research! Hope your son starts to pick up soon! X

@Katie been giving the multi in the morning and magenesuim in the evening, he had oat milk as he’s always been uncomfortable with dairy but been trying to limited that aswell as I would say he probably has more than what would be recommended x

Be careful with detox with kids, if you decide to do, than better under doctors supervision. Hope you get the answers ❤️

@Santa yes 100% I honestly don’t really know much about it at all, sounds a little scary to be honest so I thought I would do some research and discuss with the doctor if it’s something that a blood test would highlight the need too x
