When starting on solids did it effect your LO’s sleep?

I don’t know if it’s just coincidence but we’ve been giving our little one a bit of a fruit pouch for the last two days and in turn her sleep has gone to shit. Hs anyone else experienced this or is just a crap coincidence?

Personally mine is the same, she has breakfast each morning (she’s 7 months) and since starting weaning, her sleep is out the window

@Kym I don’t understand it, I thought she’d sleep better 🤣😭

@Leah me too 😔 I thought she would be fuller so sleep much better but we went from sleeping through the night to every hour or so and now we’re back to 3/4 times a night

@Kym how long did it take for sleep to improve? I’m only on day 3!

@Katherine yeah, still the same amount, I feed on demand as she’s breastfed. I’m only giving her like a teaspoon or two of a puree a day to start with, just to get her used to tastes and because I didn’t know how she’d be now taking solids x

@Katherine oh I genuinely didn’t think of that! I shall try a veg one for a few days, thank you! X

@Leah I won’t lie, we hit the 6 month regression and weaning st the same time so we’re only just coming out of it and she’s 7 months and 1 week 😭

There’s an enzyme that’s only activated in their stomachs once they start solids so it can take a while for them to adjust to digesting food and not just milk. It took about a month for mine to settle but it was also around the 6 month mark so hard to pin point whether it was food or a regression or both. x

@Hannah I don’t know if I have a month in me 😭 she’s awake every hour if not more unless I put her in bed with me an my husband - which I refuse to do now I’m so tired. You all have the patience of saints! X

@Leah could be separation anxiety kicking in - loads starts changing and happening it was hard for about six weeks and then it settled and was rough again for about ten days last week as she had five teeth coming through at once. really really hard but it’ll pass x
