So if you've already had it done then maybe choose to stop and continue with formula
Awh no why?? all I've read is that it is extremely unlikely that Anything will enter the milk supply?? I'm due to get botox for first time in a couple of weeks and just curious as to why I don't want to really risk my supply just for botox (I hate expressing) but also wanted to try botoz in my head for ages but couldn't justifying spending that much on myself so partners finally said he would get me it for Christmas 🙈
U can get Botox while breastfeeding it’s perfectly safe. I had to have it as a procedure to treat an anal fissure so it wasn’t cosmetic and I only had to wait 2 hours after to start breastfeeding again and that was because of the morphine. This is from a Surgeon who deals with a lot of pregnant and breastfeeding mums.
Any reputable aesthetician will not administer Botox or Fillers whilst a mother is still breastfeeding. It is not recommended and is unethical to do research on. If your aesthetician is happy to do it then they are not good at what they do and are uneducated.
@Hannah the difference is that yours was completed by a surgeon who is highly trained in more than beauty. This makes is much safer than anyone that takes a days training course to inject people.
@Donna Woods I disagree Botox is Botox he said it doesn’t transfer to breastmilk. The amount used in cosmetic procedures is much lower than what is considered harmful if it were to enter the bloodstream. Whereas I had 100 units injected and still he said it’s no problem as your body naturally metabolises it.
@Hannah you can disagree all you like 😂 that doesn’t mean it’s not true. An aesthetician isn’t a medical professional. Mostly, they are just trained for this procedure. Whereas as surgeon has years of medical training and experience. The NHS advises against it. And the manufacturers advises consulting with your doctor before having it done.
@Donna Woods if someone wants to get Botox let them it’s not harmful😂👍🏼
@Hannah in your opinion… I’d rather continue to share legitimate information that is readily available to all than share my opinion that says the complete opposite 🤚🏽 If you want to encourage others to do what they want despite the guidance saying otherwise then crack on love.
@Donna Woods u can find information online saying both it’s fine and not fine. Ur picking one I’m picking the other doesn’t make u right 💀
@Hannah I’m going NHS guidelines, common sense and information from my own aesthetician 👍🏽
@Donna Woods more power to u girl 🫠
Thanks all, I think I'll wait until I'm back to work and breastfeeding comes to an end, it's only 4 months away. It seems it's very unclear re the risks so I'll err on the side of caution.
I was dying to get it but waited until I had stopped expressing. I don’t know what the risks are but seen as it’s botulism I didn’t want to take any chances so didn’t even bother reading into it xx
My Botox lady said no to Botox if breastfeeding
