Nap times.

Hi, I was wondering when everyone started doing set nap times in the day I haven’t yet and am unsure wether I should try and start (my little one is 9 weeks) I don’t really know where to start with timing and everything at the moment I’m just letting him sleep when he wants to.

I also let my baby sleep when she wants to. I don’t see any benefit of having nap times so early. They will soon start to consolidate more sleep and naps will gradually drop, then having certain nap times may give more structure to your day, but it is way too early for that in my opinion.

Thank you x

I also let my baby sleep when she wants! 🙌🏻 she can sleep when she’s tired and it works for her 🥰 xx

I love routine but realistically set nap times won't work for a few months until their naps are reliable and consistent, 7 months for my first baby when she dropped to 2 naps. In the meantime you can follow wake windows etc. Have a set time to start the day, you could start that now.

With my eldest we never did. She always slept at round about the same times but we were never rigid and it meant she was a lot more adaptable than some friends kids if our days didn’t go to a set routine

We let baby sleep when ready but she’s set her own daytime routine of nappy change, feed, 1 hour wake window then 1-2 hour nap before starting the cycle again. She’s 10 weeks old x
