My 15 month old is doing this. Usually it’s bc he’s hungry and I haven’t gotten him food quick enough lol he’s a little piggie. We do a lot of deep breathing. He’s learned how to take a deep breath and we practice it when he’s in a good mood. That way when he’s mad and throwing a tantrum, I can start deep breathing and he will catch on and do it with me. It doesn’t always work but it helps some. Other than that it’s just letting him cry it out and work through it while sitting next to him and letting him know “mamas right here, mama knows you’re mad, it’s ok to be mad” and he’ll eventually calm down.
I ask him to look at mama and calmly talk him through it. It sort of works? Distraction is key too. But I feel like the REAL tantrums are coming 🤣
My LO is doing the same when he’s super tired and overstimulated. Usually, I’ll go so a relatively quiet spot and nurse as I EBF to calm him down. That works for us— in general, even if I dont latch him on, its usually just a matter of getting him less stimulated. I basically breathe through it and always remember the saying “my child isnt giving me a hard time, theyre having a hard time”. Babies/toddlers/kids have tantrums
