Constant screams

My baby is 5weeks old and will scream if shes fed, scream during burping, scream when sat down being held (grabbing and kicking) the only way to stop her from crying and screaming is to have her high up and swinging in the air. This means it is a nightmare to get her to sleep in the evening times we will sometimes have to drive for half hour at 2am to get her to stop but then shes wide awake when we are back / Or my partner has to soothe her until the morning when he has work as she does not like being held by me in the nighttime. Any advice? 😭🙏

Have you tried giving her stuff for reflux/ or colic? Pacing her feed and burping in between. Then keeping her upright for around 30 min after feeding? I would try gaviscon infant or ask doctor for omezrepole. If you are breastfeeding I would also cut out caffeine and dairy as she may have an allergy and caffeine is a stimulant.

Have you tried swaddling her? Sometimes when my little one is just screaming and I’ve done everything I think possible I shut the lights off (mainly for my sanity), put on some white noise & swaddle him whilst gently swaying him and he seems to settle.

Look up ‘silent reflux’ and see if she has that and contact your GP x

Our 5 week ago seemed to be crying whenever he was awake. I tried everything and then took him to an osteopath who said he had loads of tension in his body due to the way he was delivered. He’s had two treatments now and we’ve seen a huge difference. He’s actually content when he’s awake and the crying has massively reduced. Xx

A bath can often help too.
