Eggs

We’ve been given the go ahead for weaning today, and to do a milk challenge in 4 weeks. How have your children got on with egg? I’m nervous now to try it 😅

I gave mine a quarter of a teaspoon, then half the next day, and now she eats it nearly every day with no problems. 😊

@Phoebe ah that’s perfect, thank you!

My daughter tried it twice so far withno reaction at all she loved it I use crumbled it with my hands (fork takes forever) and a tiny bit of milk so wasn’t dry but next time I won’t put milk with it as she’s able to handle little chunks better now

@kelly oh I’m glad! I think I was just panicking over nothing, well hopefully anyway lol

@Frayere oh I was the same don’t worry that’s was the first proper food she had. I only gave her purées before but after the egg she can handle so much more chunks and stuff so I am really happy

We are allergic to egg and just starting the egg ladder at a year old, doing milk after. Just keep an eye when introducing :)

Have a Google of the egg ladder. I had to cut out eggs for my cmpa baby too, so when it came to weaning I introduced them via the egg ladder and he was thankfully ok. Although I also waited until he was about 8 months. Surprised your dietitian said to do the milk ladder so soon! Most recommend not before 12 months and at least 6 months after the last reaction.

I'm sure the advise is once weaning you can't do the milk challenge because you may think it's the milk they're reacting to when it could be another food that they're trying My girl gets a rash from eggs unfortunately but honestly it's like trying any new food because anything can cause an allergic reaction For example my lg reacts to sweetcorn and pork which are both very random Definitely do the 3 day rule with every new food to wait for a reaction

@Charlotte she said we’ll try the milk ladder at 1, but do a challenge so trying on his previous formula or yoghurt etc just to see

@Frayere aaaah yes makes sense! I read that as ladder haha
