C section refusal

Hi, I have been told for a few weeks now I am being allowed to go to 40+4 then if the baby doesn’t come naturally then I will have to have a csection. This is after one previous c section with a 19 month gap. I have my pre operative appointment today and I am 40+1. I just wondered if I can refuse a c section or not? Or if anyone has done this before? I am UK based. Thanks in advance!
