I will tell my midwife but tbh any problems I mentioned in last pregnancy they just put down to... oh that's normal cos you're pregnant I teach so I'm up on my feet a lot at work and use my cushion mostly when I sit Have a heating bag too which helps
I’m a nurse, so also long hours on my feet. Due to accommodations, I recently got moved to an outpatient clinic setting so it’s more sitting and office work, and right around week 22 my sciatic pain and tailbone pain started. Ugh that’s rotten to be dismissed so quickly. Sure, there are plenty of things that are a part of pregnancy, by that doesn’t mean we have to suffer through it.
I can sit when I want, my work will be understanding . Just wondered if anyone had any other suggestions I'm at midwife in Jan so will bring up then How do you know if it's sciatic ? I would say mine feels like my hips and coccyx not strictly my back if that makes sense
I’ve been in a motorcycle accident and had intermittent sciatic pain since and was pregnant the following year. Sciatic pain is shooting pain from your butt down your thigh. Sometimes, it goes down more. There are stretches I can do that help it, but the nerve gets pinched from the added weight of baby and pregnancy. Yours definitely sounds like pelvic pain involving your entire pelvis.
Sorry to hear that , thank you xx
I definitely would recommend a belly band. It will help to lift the weight of the uterus. And take some pressure off. They can help fit you at the health store when you go in to get one.
Where do you get them please?
@Brianne ah I can see you are from US, I'm UK I think I've only ever seen them online Maybe in some of our baby shops I'll have a look xx
I got mine from the health shop in my local hospital.
I have to change positions frequently and use a heating pad, but I’m 25 weeks and have been having tailbone pain for a few weeks as well! (Size 10/12) Id be curious what your provider has to say about it. Mine was in one particular chair at work, so I just don’t use it anymore. My couch and recliner at home are padded enough.
