I find giving her a bottle of expressed milk before bed helps fill her up for longer. She goes 8 hours without a feed at night now but she used to do 11 hours before the regression hit. When she started sleeping through she started cluster feeding in the afternoons and evenings to stock herself up on milk for the night so maybe try to offer the breast as much as possible x
My baby wakes once in the night but my first baby woke many times each night. I think it is just luck really xx
Yeah I'd agree with Sally, it's massively to do with the temperament of the baby. People can do the exact same thing with two different babies and it not have the same effect. My little one is EBF and we're currently getting anywhere between 8-11 hour stretches with no wake ups. He's kind of fed to sleep but I try rouse him as much as possible (easier said then done) before putting him in his next to me. We've got a pretty standard bedtime routine going to be anywhere between 7.30 and 8.30, making sure he's been awake for at least 2-2.5 hours before bed. Naps anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 hours at thr moment and we're kind of dropping down to 3 naps but I'll play it by ear. If I don't think he's hungry when he does wake up, I sit and hold him and pop him back in his cot when he calms down/gets a bit drowsy. However I will say, I'm not doing anything different from two weeks ago when he was waking up 3 or 4 times in the night so just stick at whatever you're doing and hopefully baby catches on eventually x
That's 1.5 to 2.5 hours total Nap time, not each nap
My baby is EBF and she is still feeding every 2/3 hours a night, please don’t tell me I’m the only one 😭
Mine wakes once a night and is ebf, my nearly 3 year old however was also ebf to 18m, slept terribly the whole time and still does. I think it’s luck of the draw unfortunately…. We’ll call it character building, although doesn’t feel like it at the time!
Yes mine does, this is what I have found helped us....she never feeds for comfort, I always unlatched when she stopped feeding. She also isn't a snacker which I think is just luck tbh so she will have 5 feeds rather than lots of little feeds. I feed her up during the day every 3 hours so she gets her oz in during the day and doesn't wake at night. 8am, 11am, 2pm, 5pm and then one at 6.30pm (bed at 7pm). I have also been putting her down awake from about 14 weeks to encourage her to self settle so that if she wakes in the night she can take herself back off. We went through the sleep regression for about 3 weeks but she is back sleeping good again, last night over 12 hours without a wake 😅
Bedtime routine I think helps too (bath etc)
@Janine same here!
My LG is ebf and for the last 7 weeks she’s slept from around 8pm until 5/6am. Decided to try dream feeding before I settle for the night (around 11pm) and this has taken her to sleep until 7.30/8am had a few 9ams too. She still tends to feed 2-3 hours during the day. But last feed after bath before bed tends to be a little longer. Think having nighttime routine has helped loads. She’s 6 months old 1st Jan
