Lying preference and flat head

My LG is 9 weeks old and has developed a preference for lying on one side. I've noticed she's starting to get a slightly misshapen head as a result although friends and family have said they wouldn't notice unless id pointed it out. I'm worried about it getting worse / not going away as she gets older. Does anyone have any experience of this and any tips? We're doing tummy time and some stretches a few times a day and trying to use the sling more / have her lying on her back less but at night she's determined to turn her head in the same direction 😔

Hi, you can take her to an osteopath to help relief some tension. Sometimes it’s a little muscle tension on one side that makes them prefer to lie facing a particular direction. I’ve taken both my daughters for this same issue and others and it work wonders.

Experienced this with my first and took her to a cranial osteopath which made the world of difference. That afternoon she turned her head and napped the other way. She did have a flat head for months so I’m glad we took her when we did before it got worse. I appreciate it’s expensive and may not be an option but if you are able to, I’d explore it!

Thanks girls this is really helpful. I think I'll look into it for the new year
