Am I doing this right?

I am breastfeeding and currently sahm so i am home with my baby all day. Shes 8 weeks so she feeds every 2-3 hours and tends to just drain one breast and not want the other one. I alternate breasts. So if she had the left for one feeding, i will give her the right for the next.. I dont pump the breast the shes not feeding from, i think i find comfort in leaving it full for her for the next feed.. I only pump before bed and during night time feeds when she sleeps in and i am engorged.. I have a pretty decent stockpile of frozen milk that we had to buy a new freezer because i filled up the regular freezer pretty quickly.. My question is, is this a sustainable breastfeeding and pumping schedule? Or could the lack of pumping and emptying both breasts throughout the day eventually cause a decline in the supply? I dont know why but ive been paranoid that I'm not doing this right!

No I barely ever pumped my son is 17 months and he still breast feeds and I still have a good supply sounds like your already an oversupplier so I wouldn’t worry about it.

@Day thank you for this

I never pumped as I couldn’t get anything out. My little one is now a year and a half and still breastfeeding. She was ebf. She favours the right but sometimes goes to the left one 🤣 so I wouldn’t say that I made sure each were fully emptied before offering the next. I wouldn’t worry too much

The more you take, the more you'll make. There's absolutely no need to pump this early on and your supply wouldn't be regulated right now. You're telling your body to make more than your baby needs. Soft breasts are happy breasts.
