Pillows

Pillows and 5 month old What’s everyone’s opinions on a 5 month old using a pillow ? I’m aware the lullaby trust advises you don’t until the age of 1, but my little girl naps on a pillow during the day and I’m considering doing it at night also as she sleeps so much better but hear so many maxed reveiws and just want some opinions so fire away 🥰

My daughter sleeps in next to me that’s flat and completely empty at night, sometimes she comes into our bed and we co-sleep. We have a super king bed, she still is completely flat. She has at times fallen asleep on sofa/our bed on pillow but we have made decision to move her flat. Just a personal choice.

Why is it that your baby sleeps better do you think? Is it been inclined? As you could always tilt her mattress if that’s the case. I personally wouldn’t want my 6mo to sleep with anything yet

I don't put anything in the crib/next to me, but I do have a slight incline

Are you going to be constantly watching her at night? Is there going to be the same background noise at night as there is during the day whilst she is in a deeper sleep? Just not worth the suffocation risk at 5 months old.

Heya, I'd maybe try taking the pillow away in the day and having her in her cot/crib for daytime sleep too so she gets used to not having a pillow and hopefully sleeps just as well in her cot/crib! It might mean some rough/shorter naps for you but I think it's better than adding something to the cot/crib personally 😊

Definite no from me

@Hannah I think it’s the being inclined with her head raised slightly she just sleeps longer and better the dark if she was asleep on my arm

@Tia ide love for this to happen but she contact naps during the day falling asleep on the feeding pillow then trying to move her is impossible 😂

@Jenna (Jen) how have you found the incline ?

The incline works just fine for us helps with various colds too

Oh bless her! Could it be your smell is comforting rather than the pillows? For a while we'd have her cot mattress cover in our bed under the duvet or just over me to transfer my scent to try and trick her into feeling close when she slept 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

I wouldn’t
