My husband and I got the newton mattress mainly for its breathable material and that it’s easy to clean it’s a bit pricey though we got ours on Black Friday along with some mattress covers and sheets that are also breathable

Some people might say the newton mattress because it's breathable if baby turns face down. We have a serta crib mattress (found on Amazon for around $75) and haven't had any problems with it. And be prepared, crib mattresses are supposed to be firm. We have some water proof mattress covers that add some extra "comfort" to the mattress without being unsafe
