You have to wait the same amount of time as a vaginal birth. The reason you need to wait is because there is a dinner plate sized wound in your uterus from the placenta detaching which happens no matter how the baby comes out. If you don’t wait, you could get a serious infection. How it feels is going to vary widely from person to person; it wasn’t really painful for me, but I was also trying to get my catheter out to walk around as soon as I got feeling back in my legs. It was worse for me with coughing/sneezing/laughing. Holding a pillow really helps with that.
I waited about 4 1/2 weeks because even though it’s recommended it still my choice nothing hurt as long as your belly doesn’t jiggle too much🩷
6 weeks
I waited 12 weeks just so I can see the doctor and make sure everything was okay 🙂 it hurt a little at first and they recommended lube, especially if you're breastfeeding because your body's priorities aren't intimacy anymore lol but if you're feeding formula then you'll be okay 💃🏻
@Natalie it doesn't matter if you breastfeed or formula feed, it's still the same 😭
I was told 6-8 weeks depending on healing. We waited until I was a little over 10 weeks postpartum and I didn’t hurt one bit. Felt funny (just overall different) with the scar and everything, but overall I was not in any sort of pain.
