LG is still in a crib/not ready for toddler bed, but we will be traveling next year with no crib at location. WWYD?

My mom/LGs grandma moved overseas to a small 2 BR apartment with her husband. They keep asking us to come visit them but I am dreading the sleep arrangement. LG is currently 15 months and we would have to room-share during our visit. In the past, we used to put her packnplay in a Slumber Pod which would somewhat help with the new environment/black out tent for less early wake ups. But that was when she still fit inside a packnplay and was only standing with support. Now with her walking I’m just dreading her getting out of any toddler bed and getting into stuff in a most likely NON-toddler safe room. My mom has already stated she is not buying a crib to keep there because we seldom visit and the apartment is too small to have one there when we aren’t. No hate against co-sleeping but my LG and I are both extremely restless sleepers and that just never worked for us. Does anyone have any advice or has used a travel toddler bed on their usually in-a-crib toddler?

You can still do a pack n play. We still did it til like 2 or later with my son until we got a blow up toddler bed. It might be a little tight with them sleeping and blankets and what not but it still should be fine. We are still using one and we will be for a while

My daughter still sleeps in a packnplay every night & sleep

@Gabrielle @Victoria thank you for your comments! How do you make sure they don’t tip it over now they’re standing/walking on their own? My LG doesn’t do well when we travel and sometimes throws a tantrum when we try to put her down. When she was younger she would stand and shake the rail back and forth using her whole body weight. When she was smaller it wasn’t as scary but she’s 26lbs now…

I’m honestly wondering if a play pen with a toddler mattress and Slumber pod inside would work. Guys I know I’m psycho but just bear with me I have PPA and really worry about the worst thing happening lol

Oh hm yeah. We have like a blow up mattress for my toddler which is nice and then you could do the slumber pod thing that could be good

@Gabrielle Yeah Idk if the slumber pod would keep her in the bed though. Like it’s just a tent for blacking out light. The bottom is open so she could just push the whole thing over or lift it up and get out

The one my daughter has is pretty sturdy I don't think she will be able to tip it for a long time

We use the Guava Lotus travel crib. And like it a lot. Otherwise I would recommend checking out @whereisbriggs on Instagram. She has lots of travel tips for this kind of thing
