Curious to know what everyone’s jobs were before having a baby/maternity leave? I worked in childcare but i think i’m over it. I was looking at nursing but honestly don’t know if i’ll be able to afford thousands of dollars for a course. Also don’t think i’m smart enough to do a nursing course. Looking at what ...

and I feel like my son would enjoy being around kids more. He’s always been very interested in other kids but the other day at the park he had his first real interaction when a boy a little older than him say hi to him and he said hi back. Then he was unsure of what to do and reached out to slowly touch the kid on t...

My little boy goes to nursery twice a week for 7:30am until 14:00pm , he started nursery over a month ago and still hasn’t settled in, crying when I drop him off and crying when I pick him up.He is very emotional and wants cuddles and book reading for him etc, not really moving around to play until snack time which...
How did you do the settling in process….when did you start letting them go out together without you? I had a chat with a nanny and she was really angry/rude when I said I wanted to have a a nanny stay in the house while I work. She found me in a local chat on fb and is spicy with me for this - again. Really odd unh...
I was wondering how nursery schools work for September 2025. I know I need to apply before the 15th January.I was wondering what hours they offer? Under the new government - it is 30 hours after your child turns 3? I tried to ring my local council but they weren't any help. I haven't been to any open days yet as...
I’m going back to work and am Wondering is it better for me to have the fees paid by UC or to take the 15 free hours? As far as I’m aware you obviously cannot do both?
my lo has outgrown her stroller, she’s too tall but still loves to be pushed around. Any recommendations for one that can fit bigger kids? Idk how tall she is exactly but she's way taller than the other 2yos in her daycare
Lo not settling in at nursery and doesn't seem themselves there takes while when get home for personality to come back. Wondering if would be better in smaller home setting of a childminder. Anyone made the switch?
I know this will have been asked before, so sorry for duplicated questions. But I can’t quite get my head around when the funded hours come into play for our July babies. I DO understand that from September 24 (ie a couple months ago) children from 9 months became eligible for 15 hours, but most of our July babies...
Found out I’m 17 weeks pregnant. My baby is only 5 months old. They will be 11 months apart. I really don’t feel like we have the money to do this. I’m terrified. I make too much money for WIC even though it’s BARELY anything. No one wants to watch my two kids and daycare is damn expensive. How did you make it work?
Does anyone part/full time home school their child instead?
Anyone have any “must haves” or even “helpful to haves” before my little girl starts nursery?

I’m due back at work in December, I have 2 children, a 3 year old and a soon to be 1 year old and when I go back to work, after childcare costs we’re only going to have an extra £90 a month, that’s with all the government funding etc. 🤯
