Need a career/job in life sciences that'll help me travel with my son

I'm pretty smart, I just have chronic pain to manage whilst being a SM to a toddler son. Only help I have is my mom and she's getting older and I feel bad. Getting out of an abusive cult like brainwashing relationship from BD (not so smart of me to be involved with that nightmare) I need to start building my life w...

Chickenpox

So my boys have chickenpox and I’ve read if we come into contact with it while pregnant we should inform our GP. Has anyone else’s kids had it while you’re pregnant and what advice were you given? My GP can be a nightmare to get through to I’ve messaged my midwife as well for now.

How did/do you cope with returning to work?

I go back to work on Tuesday and I’m absolutely terrified for a number of reasons. I exhausted all leave options and just not working isn’t an option.

Shared Parental leave

Wonder if anyone can help - I’m due on 21st April. Was planning to go at Easter which would put my first date of maternity down at 14th April (as I’ll be paid for Easter). Would this mean I wouldn’t qualify for SPL in the summer because I’ll be on enhanced pay until mid August? Trying to work out the best option! Th...

Is this true??

If I give birth early my maternity leave will obviously start earlier but does this mean my annual leave which I have booked will get cancelled?? I’m freaking out as I need that last wage to survive until maternity allowance comes through. 😭

California Maternity Leave

So I’m seeing that with SDI (10-12 weeks) and PFL (up to 8 weeks) we can get 4.5 months of leave or 5 months with csection. I’ve heard once you apply for SDI, we basically lose a week of pay and get paid the week after. So should I apply another week earlier so I won’t lose a week? (If my job lets me go on leave at ...
