Benefits of baby NOT having father’s last name.

I’ve seen a lot of people on here saying there are benefits of your baby not having the father’s last name on birth certificate. We’re married but it’s completely fallen apart and I’m due in a few weeks. We also have another child together that does have his last name. I’m pretty sure I’m not having him in the deliv...

Advice needed!!

I had my baby 12 days ago by emergency c-section and had my dressing taking off on day 7. Since then, I’ve noticed more pain/aches around the scar, it’s also red. M y midwife checked it yesterday and said it’s looking good. But since then I have noticed that it’s quite wet (possible sweat) around it. I’m a plus siz...

Is “push present” an actual thing?? Do you still get one if you have a c section??

I feel awkward mentioning it to my husband lol, as I’m having a c section I think. I’ve only just heard about such a thing, and I’m sure my husband knows nothing about it. Do most of your husbands give you a push present or is it just something on the internet?

What does early labour contractions feel like?

Out for dinner this evening and on the drive home I started to get sore tightenings across my stomach. Lasting about 40ish seconds and 17/18 mins apart. So far my braxton hicks have been painless and these tightenings had me wincing a little. No other symptoms as of yet, no bloody show, no waters breaking, so very...

Scheduled C-section or try naturally?

I am due with twins in a couple months, wondering what twin/ triplets mommas think? If you could go back in time would you keep your delivery experience the same or would you have changed your plan? There’s so many unknowns with twins that emergency c-sections scares me. I had my first naturally so I know what to ex...

Twins due! C-section vs natural? Parents of twins what’s your advice?

I am having twins and I am 28W 3D… I have a daughter that is 9 and with her I gave birth “naturally”. I still had an epidural done that’s why I put the quotes. Babies are due in a couple months and wondering what peoples opinions or stories are on deciding for a scheduled c-section, or should I try naturally again? ...

Mucus plug

Just had thick jelly discharge on two wipes, a string of it about 5-6cm long both times. No pink tinge. Mucus plug? 😟 I’m 35+2. Not my first baby and definitely remember getting this the first time right before labour. In a panic!

Hospitals for birth

When filling out my midwife form at 8 weeks I requested to have my baby at the Lagan valley hospital. However, any time I look at the website it says it’s closed to births. Does anyone know any details for this? I’m in the middle of the country and it takes about 35 minutes to get there, and heading into Belfast wou...

How do you cope with not lifting your toddler for the first 6 weeks after c section

I’ve got a 22 month old toddler and a newborn who was born via c section up until now my other half has always been around to help with lifting the toddler when needed but he goes back to work next week and I’m petrified of being by myself and not being able to lift him in and out of the crib but don’t want to burde...

What to add to hospital bag for induction?

There’s potential I might be going in to be induced early next week; I currently only have a ‘normal’ hospital bag prepped but I know for induction I could be in for a few days before anything happens! Any tips on what to add to the bag for an induction? Thankyou!

I’ve gone past my due date.

Officially gone past my due date and this little one clearly doesn’t want to come out. Does anyone know if I can request to be induced? At this point I really can’t do it anymore, I’m shattered and in pain.
