at a loss with weaning

anyone have any advice? I started weaning about 2-3 weeks ago and baby just is not interested. She is showing all signs of readiness and is 6.5 months old but anytime I try and I feed her she shuts her mouth, I’ve tried multiple different options and a mixture of BLW and purees and just nothing seems to be working?...

Dropping feeds EBF

Hiya, How is everyone going about dropping day feeds? My little girl starts childminders in two weeks and I need to drop her second feed of the day as I won’t be with her and I can’t express very much. Are you replacing with water and a snack? She already has two snacks a day and then breakfast lunch dinner which ...

20 month old fussy eater

Our son has always been fussy with food, but he ate much better between 6 -12 months old than he does now. He has plain toast or jam on toast for breakfast. He won’t eat anything with egg or any cereal (even chocolate cereal) he wont eat waffles/pancakes. He literally is living off jam sandwiches for lunch - som...

Throwing food

My MIL was round over Christmas and was horrified at the amount of food my son was throwing during meal times. It made me feel really bad about it 😢. He’s been doing it a while now and I just tend to ignore and pick the food up and say ‘no’ and put it in a separate bowl. It’s killing me though 🥲 when does this…

Toddler behaviour

I’m just looking for some guidance, FTM, 20 month old, they don’t have many tantrums however they absolutely run the show, now I don’t know if we should allow this or if it will cause problems down the line. My partner thinks they’re too young for discipline and probably is happy for an easier life but they won’t ea...

Weaning

So my baby is turning 6 months tomorrow (Sunday 29th) and we have been giving him banana porridge and a few of the pouches like pears e.g. from 4+ months. He doesn’t have any teeth yet so will it be safe to try and encourage him to try and start trying more solid foods like a piece of boiled broccoli or like a pit o...

Weaning

My daughter is 9 months and I feel like I’m failing her weaning journey. I keep seeing babies her age on at least one meal everyday but I don’t always give her solids, she can go days without but I feel like I should be giving her 3 meals at this point. I get so stuck on what to feed her.

Chocolate Causing Distress

Does anyone’s else’s child get mega unsettled when they have chocolate? 3yo is on DF choc/non IgE CMPA diet anyway but every time she has had it this week (more so but still not a huge amount due to Xmas, most today) she’s beyond upset and tonight she’s been up squirming and crying inconsolably and still going at al...

Lately she's been throwing food more and more. Any things that have been tried to help minimize the amount of completely eliminate them doing it? Anything...

Suddenly incredibly fussy eater

My just turned 1 year old has suddenly become sooooo fussy! He used to eat everything you gave him but for the last 2 weeks or so, all he wants is snacks (crisps, wafers, bananas) or puree pouches. Won't eat any proper meals or solids. It's driving me crazy as wasting so much food. Is this normal around this age?

One proud mamma - BLW gone right

For anyone not sure whether to go BLW route or not, this is my 19mo who's been eating soup this way for nearly 2 months. Never ever have we spoon fed, introduced cutlery just for fun at 9/10m, she started using it properly at 12/13m and now eats like a pro. This is in a busy restaurant full of distractions. Trust yo...

Is it normal to get asked to bring food every time your parents or in laws host dinner (or any other family member who regularly invites you over for dinner) // AITA?

I’m wondering what’s normal. This is a rant and poll. My mom regularly wants to have us all over for dinner, she’s big on family-togetherness which is great and everything but the invite always comes with a “let me know what you can bring” and goes on to say what specific pieces of the meal she needs each of us to b...

Starting to wean

I’m struggling big time with starting to wean my 6 month old. I’ve attempted to try her on pouches and jars to get used to different flavours and textures but everytime I try she’s just spitting it out. She hasn’t taken any food and I feel like I’m doing it all wrong. Where do I start? And what’s the best things t...

Weaning - what’s your plan ?

We’re soon to be 6m, my plan is to start with purées, I’m going to work my way through veg and fruit, probably around tea time 5/6pm followed by bath and bottle at 7ish down for bed. My little one is on 4 bottles a day, she’s recently dropped a bottle as her naps have gone back up again so was struggling to get 5 bo...
